Amos Mundendi, also known as "Mos" and "El Ashile Mundi", was charged with Apocalypse Bella and Mackenzy Toussaint in a sealed indictment filed April 14, 2021 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, No. 21 Cr. 247 (PAE). The indictment describes a scheme to obtain at least approximately $14 million in government-guaranteed loans for various companies through the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program. Mundendi pleaded guilty on April 4, 2022 to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, Count Three of the superseding indictment. On February 14, 2023 Judge Paul A. Engelmayer sentenced him to 42 months' imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release and ordered restitution of $9,315,418.00 under the MVRA. His appeal was withdrawn by stipulation in June 2023.
