IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF GEORGIA ATLANTA DIVISION UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. DENESSERIA SLATON A/K/A DENESSERIE SLATON Case No. 1:21-CR-179 DEFENDANT’S MOTION TO CONTINUE COMES NOW, DENESSERIA SLATON, through undersigned counsel, and moves the Court to continue the voluntary surrender date scheduled for May 29, 2023. The Defendant was diagnosed with COVID-19. After retesting in ten days (approximately 06/10/2023), she was advised that she will need to have a follow-up X-ray performed to determine the severity of the effects of the diagnosis; this is routine for those who suffer respiratory symptoms and/or abnormal PFT with the diagnosis. Also, the Defendant is currently working on a post-conviction resolution to her case by complying with her plea agreement. To promote judicial efficiency, the Defendant moves the Court to continue this matter of voluntary surrender to June 28, 2023.
