Your Honor: 
This office represents Mr. James in the above-referenced matter. Mr.

Adams is scheduled to surrender to FPC Montgomery on Wednesday March 9 2022 
before 2:00 pm. I am writing today, to respectfully request, that Mr. James be given a 
four-week extension on his surrender. Your Honor, I am aware that I am submitting 
this request the day before surrender and apologize for not being able to 
communicate Mr. James’ request at an earlier time. 
 
We are submitting this request because Mr. James has a pending civil matter 
which must be resolved before the 8th of April.  If it is not, Mr. James is at risk of a 
judgment and will almost certainly lose his home.  We have made every attempt to 
have this matter resolved before tomorrow but have been unsuccessful.  If the matter 
is resolved in the interim, Mr. James is willing and would prefer to turn himself in 
prior to whatever date the court extends the time to as he is ready to begin.      
 
I have reached out to AUSA Victor Regal regarding this matter when the civil 
case was adjourned, but was unable to  obtain consent as I have not heard back. It is my 
hope, that you will grant Mr. James this extension until April 9th, 2022, despite the 
lateness of the request.
