What it is
This is the loan-level file the Small Business Administration publishes under the Freedom of Information Act, and the base for every PPP table on this site. One row per loan: borrower name and address, the originating and servicing lender, approval date, initial and current approved amount, undisbursed amount, forgiveness amount and date, loan status, jobs reported, NAICS code, business type and age, franchise, rural and HUBZone indicators, the demographic fields borrowers were asked to volunteer, and the borrower's stated split of proceeds across payroll, rent, utilities, mortgage interest, and other uses.
The SBA splits the release by loan size. public_150k_plus holds the 968,524 loans of $150,000 and above. The twelve public_up_to_150k parts hold the 10,499,686 loans under $150,000, 900,000 rows to a file. They are cut from a file sorted by BorrowerState: part 1 runs AE–CA, part 12 runs VA–WY, and a state that crosses a cut appears in two consecutive parts. The parts must be combined for any program-wide count. Every part has the same columns.
Where it comes from
Downloaded from data.sba.gov on 2026-05-12 and hashed on arrival. The thirteen files are byte-identical to the SBA's; the checksums below let you confirm that against any copy. The SBA's own data dictionary for the release is ppp-data-dictionary.xlsx.
The 2024-09-30 vintage is the SBA's dated refresh of the file; the loan counts differ slightly between vintages as loans are cancelled, corrected, or forgiven. Tables on this site state which vintage they used.
Files
Thirteen files as the SBA publishes them. The official copies are hosted by the SBA at the links in the last column; the checksums are of the files as acquired on 2026-05-12.

Columns
Fifty-three columns, identical across the thirteen files. The ones the tables here lean on: OriginatingLender (who made the loan), CurrentApprovalAmount, ForgivenessAmount, DateApproved, ProcessingMethod (PPP for first draw, PPS for second draw), JobsReported, BorrowerName and BorrowerZip, and NAICSCode. Definitions are in the SBA data dictionary linked above.

Caveats
- Lender fields need reconciliation. Loans that fintech aggregators routed through partner banks are booked to the partner bank; the per-lender tables here consolidate them.
- Jobs and demographics are self-reported and, for the demographic fields, mostly blank.
- Borrower names are as typed on the application: inconsistent capitalization, punctuation, and suffixes. Normalize before matching.
- The source platform and lender fields require reconciliation for some analyses.
