ORDER 
Pursuant to prior notice, a status hearing was held today to discuss further 
proceedings pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §§ 4241 and 4247.  Doc. No. 103.  Based on the 
discussion with counsel, the following ruling was made: 
1. 
On or before August 31, 2023, Defendant Evan Edwards shall file a 
memorandum of law as to whether, based on the competency report from the 
Bureau of Prisons (Doc. No. 98, filed under seal), the restoration procedures set forth 
in 18 U.S.C. § 4241(d) apply and, if not, what further proceedings should occur in 
this case. 
2. 
The United States shall file its memorandum of law in response on or 
before September 14, 2023. 
3. 
Defendant may file a reply brief on or before September 21, 2023. 
Upon receipt of the parties briefs, the Court will take the matter under 
advisement for such further proceedings are as necessary and appropriate.
