ORDER MODIFYING CONDITIONS OF RELEASE 
 
 
On March 28, 2024, defendant Joel Wright filed a Motion to Modify Conditions of Release 
(Doc. #90).  Defendant Wright requested that his conditions of release be amended to permit him 
to travel from his home in Texas to the Western District of Missouri so that he could attend the 
funeral of a family member on March 29, 2024.  The belated filing of the motion did not provide 
the Court with sufficient time to rule prior to the funeral, thus the request for an amendment to 
permit travel to the funeral is moot.  However, defense counsel has advised that the motion was 
not intended to be limited to travel for the funeral.  Instead, defendant Wright requests that his 
conditions of release be amended to permit travel to the Western District of Missouri, not only for 
court appearances and attorney meetings, but whenever he obtains the prior approval of the Pretrial 
Services Office.  The Court has been advised that the defendant’s Pretrial Services officer and 
government counsel have no objection to the defendant’s request. 
 
Given the foregoing, it is

ORDERED that defendant Joel Wright’s Motion to Modify Conditions of Release (Doc. 
#90) is granted.  Paragraph 7(f) of the Order Setting Conditions of Release (Doc. #27) is amended 
to now state: 
(7) 
The defendant must: 
 
 
(f) 
abide by the following restrictions on personal association, 
residence, or travel:  Eastern & Northern District of Texas and directly to and from 
the Western District of Missouri for court or consultation with your counsel or as 
otherwise pre-approved by Pretrial Services.  
 
It is further 
 
ORDERED that all other conditions of the Order Setting Conditions of Release (Doc. #27) 
remain in effect.
