I am also the Director of St Cecilia Community Learning Centre in Dundori township. I first met Gladys Harun in the year 2003 when I was appointed to be the Pastor of Dundori. I knew her because she used to accompany her grandmother, Elisabeth Kanyiha, for the morning daily holy masses and Sunday Celebrations . She was also a member of the church youth group that was active in the parish activities. That is the time I started noting in Gladys the leadership qualities that are characterized by the sense of responsibility. In 2004 I left for Europe where I stayed in Italy and in Switzerland for sixteen years (16). Coming back to Kenya in 2020, I started the project of St Cecilia Community Learning Centre with an intention of impacting the surrounding community with skills. When I was contemplating the valuable local people who could assist me in setting up this project, I remembered Gladys Harun but I was informed that she is currently living in USA. I searched for her contacts and I engaged her in the project as an educationist who could assist in elaborating a training program syllabus. She diligently and gratuitously assisted our teachers to designed a training program. Up to date, two hundred and Fifty (250) youths have benefited from our skills development programs and the community is grateful for the precious gift that they received from Gladys Harun. I am a person who has interacted with Gladys in professional and spiritual aspects and I have found in her a resource for our modern society. She has engaged me and the institute that I am managing with a high degree of integrity. I have also been particularly impressed by her spirit of volunteerism in the community service. She does not only live for herself but she strives to live also for others. I am readily available for further facts concerning the character of Gladys Harun. In 2018 she came to Kenya with a delegation of church members from US to dedicate a water borehole to be used by the community which they had financed fully. She has always been an asset to any team she has been a part of. She is reliable, responsible, and always willing to go above and beyond to help others. We remember a time when our community was faced with a significant challenge of communicable diseases. There were massive infections that devastated many homes and individuals. Ms. Gradys was one of the first people to step up and help. She organized a medical camp gracefully, and she worked lifelessly to save lives. Her leadership and compassion during those difficult times were truly inspiring. We also know that Ms. Gradys has faced challenges in her life especially when there was a looming divorce that engineered what she is going through now. Despite these challenges, she has always remained focused on her six children and her responsibilities. She has never let her personal issues affect her work or her relationships with others. In conclusion, we believe that Ms. Gradys is an exceptional individual who has made a positive impact on the lives of those around her. She is a woman of good character, integrity and we believe that she will continue to make valuable contributions to her family, her community, and society as a whole. I hope that you will take this letter into consideration as you make your decision in her case. I met Gladys over 15 years ago through my sister while i was still staying in Kenya and Gladys was staying in the USA and since that time Gladys became such an exceptional friend to my whole family our home became her home whenever she and her family visited Kenya. From that time i had all these years to observe Gladys’ personal qualities, her behavior and her character. Gladys Harun has portrayed an empathetic and compassionate character. To support this in 2018 for instance when i and my family got a Green Card to relocate to this country Gladys did a lot to helped us settle down. She empathized with us when we started life here with all the struggles She went out of her way to give us moral support and encouraged even our children on education pathway strategies which has helped us today. Gladys is a trustworthy person I can support this because for all these years I always trust her with everything and she has never proved otherwise she has been an honest and dependable person to me and my family Gladys for the longest i have known her, she is a person of good upright morals. She always act with integrity towards other people and I believe she does she portrays this strong character to all. I also know Gladys as a hardworking and intelligent person and also a good communicator being able to work hard for her family and the community and able to balance her roles.
