Hello Judge,  
 
Thank you for taking this time to read my letter regarding my son Darrell Jamar 
Thomas.  I wanted to let you know that although he is faced with his biggest 
challenge in his life we have always been there to support him.  We may not know 
why these circumstances are present now but we assure you that we are still 
supportive of him in doing the right thing and correcting any wrong ideas that have 
crept into his life. We are Christians and Darrell comes from a suburban middle-
class family.  I can assure you that we will work with him to put him on the right 
path.  I am a former Corrections Officer and I have been around working in the Penal 
system for many years and I have seen persons rehabilitated and I have seen persons 
that have not been rehabilitated by the system. I want to continue to offer my support 
however I can.  I know this is a big decision that has to be made regarding my Son’s 
future but I am asking that you please allow us to train and continue to support 
Darrell in an opportunity to redeem himself.  Darrell has good qualities and have 
aided many people in the community ever since he was eight years old.   He has been 
a great asset to me. During this time I am currently undergoing cardiac and kidney 
failure.  I am also undergoing cervical lumbar and thoracic injury and about to 
endure my fourth surgery.  While this is going on his help is really needed and would 
be appreciated because my health is declining rapidly.  I would really love to see my 
son.  We have deep respect for the Legal System and the Law and believe me we 
would do everything that we are told to do to get our  Son home.  The Thomas family 
ask sincerely that you please show him mercy.

Dear Judge
Hello my name is Brett Thomas, 2nd born son of Darrell Thomas. He was a great father to me
and my brother, as well as a great husband, brother, and son. I know dad knows what he did is
wrong and is accountable for his actions, but he has a lot of family at home including his
newborn son.  My father is a hard working, selfless man who valued the lives of others before
his. I know this may be a big ask but please don't make my dad sentence long, so he can come
back and reunite with the family and make more memories with my little brother.

Dear Judge
Hello my name is Caleb Bridges 1st born son of Darrell Thomas he is a great father to me and
my brother and for the short time he had with my youngest brother he really enjoyed his time.
He also has a wife that misses him very much and even thinks about the old things they used to
do together like listening to music in the car, or having fun watching a comedy TV show. She
remembers all of it and wants to re-experience it, just like the rest of the family does and our
youngest brother Dominic Thomas will have the chance to make new memories.
