July 6, 2022 Hon. Mary Kay Vyskocil United States District Judge United States District Court 500 Pearl Street New York, NY 10007 Re: USA v. Adedayo Ilori 21 Cr. 746 (MKV) Dear Judge Vyskocil: I write to apologize to the Court, the government and Mr. Ilori for missing today’s conference in this matter. As I explained to Ms. Dempsey, this matter was on my calendar for 2:00 p.m. today, and I was on my way to the courthouse when she called me following a court appearance elsewhere. A review of my email and case management software shows that I did not notice the time that was clearly noted in Ms. Dempsey’s email to the parties of June 27. There is no apparent reason for why the matter was scheduled by my staff as a 2:00 appearance. I have spoken to them and we cannot determine why that time was entered. Nonetheless, I relied on that calendar entry when planning my schedule for today. I am leaving immediately after filing this letter to go to the MDC to try to talk to my client. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience to the Court and all parties involved. Respectfully submitted, Peter E. Brill Case 1:21-cr-00746-MKV Document 50 Filed 07/06/22 Page 1 of 1
