The profile

Co-founder of Homebase; signatory of the March 24, 2020 fintech letter.

Identity and role

Rushi Patel co-founded Homebase and serves as its chief operating officer; a January 2024 release added the chief revenue officer title. He signed the March 24, 2020 letter to Congress as a Homebase representative (signatories register). Homebase makes scheduling, time-tracking, payroll and team-management software for small businesses with hourly workers. Houston-based per regional coverage (podcast page capture is a stub; cited).

Biography

The January 2024 Homebase release confirms the CRO title alongside COO, and the Homebase blog lists his posts. No congressional testimony or bylined policy writing under his name was located.

The March 24, 2020 letter and pandemic relief

Patel signed the coalition letter, which asked Treasury to direct "upwards of $500 billion" to small businesses through non-bank lenders and stated, "We seek no gain from this crisis." Homebase originated no loans. Its pandemic contribution was its data: the letter quotes Homebase's real-time figure — "Hourly workers worked 59% fewer hours last Saturday" (archived letter text) — and the St. Louis Fed used the dataset as a real-time labor-market read.

Where they are now (2025–2026)

Patel remains a Homebase co-founder and executive. Homebase raised a $60 million Series D led by L Catterton in April 2024 , and its January 2024 release said the product served more than 100,000 small businesses; later footprint figures are cited to interviews and LinkedIn; we do not have copies.
