The profile

Co-founder and CEO of Veem, a cross-border payments network for small businesses; an advocacy signatory whose company built a free PPP application front-end but made no relief loans.

Identity and role

Marwan Forzley is co-founder and chief executive of Veem, a San Francisco company that runs a global small-business cross-border payments network. The company was founded in 2014 as Align Commerce and later renamed Veem (interview and company page). Forzley signed the March 24, 2020 OnDeck-published "Letter to Congress" on behalf of Veem.

Biography / career arc

Before Veem, Forzley founded eBillme and sold it to Western Union (FinTech Silicon Valley interview). He started Veem to give small businesses lower-cost cross-border payments (company page). Veem has remained private.

Pandemic-relief / PPP-EIDL role

Veem is not a lender and originated no relief loans. The signatories urged Treasury to let online and non-bank financial firms move "upwards of $500 billion" to small businesses and stated, "We seek no gain from this crisis." Veem's pandemic role was a tooling one: in April 2020 it launched a free PPP application front-end that routed completed applications to bank and SBA-lender partners (company communications, see the companion article).

We found no corporate borrower row for Veem or Align Commerce in an exact-name search of the SBA 2024-09-30 PPP FOIA files.

No separate personal or company-side PPP/EIDL loan, SVOG grant, Provider Relief Fund payment, or other own-relief receipt is identified for Marwan Forzley.

No personal criminal charge, civil enforcement order, settlement, conviction, or fraud finding is identified in the sources cited for Marwan Forzley.

Where they are now (2025–2026)

Forzley remains Veem's chief executive (company page).
