# Global payments, reimagined and redefined
Veem is reinventing and redefining the way small businesses pay and get paid across the globe.
## How we started
In 2014, our co-founder and CEO Marwan Forzley wanted to level the playing field for small businesses, his mission was to provide small businesses access to enterprise-grade payment technology in an easy-to-use platform, which led to the creation of Veem. The name Veem stands for **Very Easy Exchange of Money** and reflects our dedication to making business payments as simple as buying a cup of coffee.
###### Veem becomes a Licensed Money Transmitter

###### Veem in Times Square

Fast forward to today, Veem now services over **1.5M clients** and has sent over **$10B in payments** in the last decade.
