President Biden's August 5, 2024 statement on his resignation credits his work with child tax relief for nearly 40 million working families, emergency assistance for more than 8 million renters, relief to cities and counties, and the protection of union pensions. PPP's legislative and launch decisions belonged to 2020 SBA and Treasury officials. Sperling's portfolio was the post-2020 ARP period, when the White House managed distribution and local-government fiscal support while oversight bodies documented fraud and control weaknesses in the earlier programs.
