After hiring and discharging retained counsel on three occasions during the course of 
these federal criminal proceedings,1 Defendant Gladys Harun now requests the Court appoint 
counsel for her.  (Doc. no. 18.)  As Defendant acknowledges in her request, the Court must 
review her financial information to determine whether she qualifies for appointed counsel 
under the Criminal Justice Act (“CJA”).  Therefore, the Court DIRECTS Defendant to 
complete and return to the Court the enclosed financial disclosure forms by no later than 
Friday, September 8, 2023.   
In order to obtain the detailed financial information necessitated by the unusual 
circumstance of a request for appointed counsel after Defendant’s repeated hiring of her own 
counsel, the Court is requiring disclosure of the detailed information used when filing for 
bankruptcy.  The Court assures Defendant that although she must attest under penalty of 
perjury that the financial information provided is true and correct, the paperwork she returns 
pursuant to the terms of this Order will be used only for consideration of the request for

appointment of counsel, not for any bankruptcy proceedings.  Defendant should use the date 
August 1, 2023, for any question that references the bankruptcy filing date.  Upon receipt of 
the completed forms, the Court will consider whether Defendant qualifies for the 
appointment of CJA counsel. 
 
Because of the time sensitive nature of Defendant’s request for appointed counsel, the 
Court DIRECTS the Clerk of Court to serve this Order on Defendant by Fed Ex Overnight 
delivery.
