DEFENDANT’S PROPOSED VOIR DIRE QUESTIONS 
 
 
COMES NOW, the Defendant, ALEXANDRA ACOSTA (“Acosta”), by and 
through the undersigned attorney, and respectfully requests the Court to include the 
following questions to the jury during Voir Dire: 
1. 
If you used a third party, such as an accountant, bookkeeper, or tax 
preparer to apply for any Covid economic relief, such as a Paycheck Protection 
Program loan (“PPP loan”), an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (“EIDL loan”), or 
other stimulus, did you check their work for errors and accuracy before your

application was submitted or did you trust the quality of their work without 
checking? 
2. 
If you use a tax preparer, an accountant, bookkeeper, or other person to 
prepare your taxes, do you review the returns for errors and accuracy before they are 
filed or do you trust the work done by the person who prepared your taxes?  
3. 
Have you ever allowed a professional services provider, such as a 
lawyer, accountant, or tax preparer to sign and submit documents on your behalf? If 
so, please elaborate. 
4. 
The Defendant in this case is Deputy Sheriff at the Broward Sheriff’s 
Office. Is there anything about her status as a member of law enforcement or about 
the Broward Sheriff’s Office that you would hold against her or that would prevent 
you from being a fair and impartial juror in this case? 
5. 
In your opinion, does the fact that she is a member of law 
enforcement/Deputy Sheriff make her testimony less believable, more believable, or 
does it make no difference?
