Who delivered PPP: 11.47 million loans and $792.6 billion, lender by lender

Each bubble is a PPP lender of record, plus two aggregator networks — Womply and Blueacorn — consolidated from their partner lenders: the Womply bubble is the sum of seven of its partner lenders' whole PPP books in the published lender-totals file, not a count of Womply's own loans. This archive's Womply count is built differently and stands at more than 1,293,428 loans: court-record figures for three partner lenders plus the 2021 loans of four more, set out on Womply loan count. The House Select Subcommittee's December 2022 staff report, held in this archive, puts the PPP loans funded through Womply at over 1.3 million, out of 2.58 million referred to lenders. Horizontal = that lender's share of all 11.47 million PPP loans. Vertical = total dollars approved; bubble size = average loan size. † Lenders are shown by originating lender of record. Womply and Blueacorn are not chartered lenders — each ran an online application portal and routed approved applications to chartered partner-lenders — so their volume is consolidated here from those named partners per the Dec. 2022 House Select Subcommittee report and ProPublica's reporting local copy (Womply = Harvest, Benworth, Fountainhead, Lendistry/BSD, Kabbage (its full-program 179,818-loan KServicing book), DreamSpring, Sunshine State; Blueacorn = Prestamos, Capital Plus; Capital Plus was also a Womply partner lender, and its book is counted once, in the Blueacorn bubble). All other lenders — Cross River, Customers, Celtic and the rest — appear under their own name. Jobs = self-reported JobsReported on the loan record (owners count themselves, so sole-proprietor loans report ≈1). Businesses = distinct borrowers (deduplicated by name + ZIP) served by that lender. Loans per business >1 mostly reflects the same borrower returning for a second-draw loan through the same lender, but variant name spellings and address normalization can push the ratio above 1 without a second draw, so treat it as a bound rather than a count.
