Where they are now (2025–2026)

After her acting tenure she moved to Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service: in May 2022 Federal News Network quoted her as "the deputy commissioner for finance and administration at BFS" and "a former CFO at the Small Business Administration".¹ Treasury's September 28, 2023 Senior Executive Service Performance Review Board notice lists her as Deputy Commissioner (Transformation and Modernization), Bureau of the Fiscal Service.² OPM's list of FY2023 Presidential Rank Award winners names "Tami L. Perriello" among the Department of the Treasury's Distinguished Executive (SES) recipients.⁵ Treasury's November 21, 2025 PRB notice lists Joseph Gioeli in the Transformation and Modernization deputy-commissioner role and does not list her, and the Bureau's leadership page captured in 2026 does not list her.⁶ She did not sign the SBA FY2021 Agency Financial Report's CFO message; that was signed by Acting CFO Jason Bossie.⁷

Pandemic relief role

Perriello was Acting Administrator between Jovita Carranza (Trump) and Isabella Casillas Guzman (Biden), from January 20, 2021 until Guzman took office in March 2021.³⁴ During those weeks:

The gross-income rule. On March 3, 2021, SBA issued the interim final rule letting Schedule C sole proprietors size their PPP loans on gross rather than net income (86 FR 13149, published March 8, 2021, effective March 4, 2021). The Federal Register signature block reads "Tami Perriello, Acting Administrator, Small Business Administration."⁸
PPP's third round. The program, reopened by the December 27, 2020 Economic Aid Act, was originating first- and second-draw loans throughout her tenure.
The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant. Created by the same December 2020 law, SVOG was being built during her tenure; its application portal opened April 8, 2021, after she had left (see Matthew Stevens).
The American Rescue Plan Act (March 11, 2021) created the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, which SBA opened under Guzman (see Isabella Casillas Guzman).

Legal status / government-program record

No personal enforcement action, civil settlement, debarment, or criminal charge involving Perriello was identified. Operational PPP control and later oversight questions involved a broader SBA/Treasury/White House chain.
