Identity and role

Lisa O. Monaco served as Deputy Attorney General of the United States (2021–2025; NYU Law news and Wikipedia; we do not have copies). As Deputy Attorney General, she was the Department of Justice's second-ranking official and supervised the department's litigating components, law enforcement agencies, and U.S. Attorneys.

Pandemic-relief / PPP-EIDL role

The Attorney General's May 17, 2021 memorandum established the COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement Task Force under the Deputy Attorney General (memorandum capture); DOJ's release on the inaugural meeting she convened in May 2021 is cited, but we do not have a copy.

The task force did not originate every PPP or EIDL case, but it organized the federal posture: cross-agency coordination, strike-force work, identity and money-laundering cases, and the position that pandemic-relief fraud would be prosecuted years after the funds went out. The Directors of COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement (Kevin Chambers, then Michael Galdo) and the Criminal Division under Kenneth Polite and later Nicole Argentieri sat within the Deputy Attorney General's supervision (CFETF 2024 report, which names Galdo).

Where they are now (2025–2026)

NYU Law announced her return as a distinguished scholar in residence on February 3, 2025 and Fortune reported her move to Microsoft as President of Global Affairs in 2025; both, and her earlier O'Melveny & Myers partnership, are cited, but we do not have copies.¹
