Biography / career arc

  • Before: antitrust associate at O'Melveny & Myers and Kirkland & Ellis (Washington); FTC chief of staff to Chairman Timothy Muris in the early 2000s; Senior Vice President for Legal, Regulatory & International at Delta Air Lines before her appointment. (FTC biography)
  • During: served the full 2020–2022 pandemic stretch, when the FTC stood up enforcement under the COVID-19 Consumer Protection Act. Pandemic-relief / PPP-EIDL role Wilson left in March 2023, a year before the March 2024 Womply and Biz2Credit complaints, and did not vote on either PPP-fintech action.

Wilson announced her resignation in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on February 14, 2023 that criticised Chair Lina Khan's conduct, accusing her of "disregard for the rule of law and due process", including over a Meta matter (CNBC report), and submitted a formal resignation letter effective March 31, 2023 (FTC letter).
