Identity and role

Brad Robert Wenstrup is a Republican who represented Ohio's 2nd District; we do not have a copy of the House historian biography cited for his service dates, medical training and Army Reserve service.1

Wenstrup chaired the Republican successor to the James Clyburn-era Select Subcommittee. The Clyburn report centered PPP fintechs and lender-service providers; the Wenstrup report turned to COVID origins, public-health governance, school closures, mandates, and broad preparedness reform.

Pandemic-relief / PPP-EIDL role

The House Oversight Committee's final-report release describes a two-year investigation and a 520-page final report, "After Action Review of the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Lessons Learned and a Path Forward"; we also have the Dec. 4, 2024 business-meeting print and the recommendations document.234

The Dec. 4, 2024 business meeting record identifies Wenstrup as chairman, shows him presiding, and records the markup of the after-action report.3 The recommendations document focuses on COVID origins, gain-of-function/high-risk pathogen research, EcoHealth Alliance, federal grant oversight, and future public-health response.4

Where they are now (2025–2026)

Wenstrup left Congress in January 2025 (House historian biography).1 No post-congressional appointment is documented in a source we have.
