Borrower suspensions the SBA announced in 2026, in the words of the documents that announced them: 57 rows in the main table, including the 52 state and territory rows of the SBA's September 14, 2026 release, and 24 rows recording how later SBA, White House and Justice Department documents restated the figures.

Each row is one figure as one document states it: the jurisdiction, the number of borrowers the document says were suspended, a loan count where the document gives one, and a dollar amount with the document's own words for it (amount_wording).
listing separates the two kinds of row. main table holds each round as first announced: the 52 rows of the table in the SBA's release of September 14, 2026 (News release 26-91), headed "State or Territory", "# of Borrowers" and "Approval Amount (PPP and COVID EIDL)", and the earlier state rounds. as restated in later documents holds the same rounds as later documents repeated or totaled them, often rounded.
How it was built
Figures were copied from the text and tables of the documents listed under Related records. borrowers and amount_usd hold the number as the wording states it ("over $8.6 billion" is 8600000000), so words such as "over", "approximately" or "nearly" live in borrowers_wording and amount_wording, not in the number.
Minnesota and Maine have no SBA news release among these documents. Their main-table rows come from the earliest document here that gives the figures: a White House release of January 2, 2026 for Minnesota and the SBA's release of June 4, 2026 for Maine.
The table rows of News release 26-91 sum to 870,628 borrowers and $38,926,358,635 in approval amount. The text of the same release says 870,000 borrowers and $39 billion.

Before you quote a row
- These are the government's figures, not findings. The SBA's amount is the approval amount of loans tied to suspended borrowers, not an amount found fraudulent. The documents describe the underlying activity as suspected fraud.
- Rounded wording. Where the wording says "over", "approximately", "nearly" or "roughly", the number beside it is the round figure as stated, not an exact count.
- AE. The SBA's table includes the code AE with 1 borrower and $20,000; the release does not say what the code stands for.
- The SBA has not published how borrowers were selected or which address places a borrower in a state.
