Dear Your Honor,  
 
I am writing you on behalf of Harrescia Hopkins, Harrescia and I have attended the 
same church for a plethora of years. As members of the youth ministry, we have 
grown together and witnessed each other's transition into adulthood. Overcoming 
challenges of being from underserved communities is what initially bonded us 
together. Harrescia had grit, which disabled her environment’s ability to take a 
negative toll on her willingness to succeed in life.  From the early years of our 
relationship, I noticed her passion for the attainment of higher education to better 
serve her community. Therefore, when it comes to the upholding of civic duties and 
responsibilities, I have witness nothing less than greatness from Harrescia. Not only 
was she able to accomplish her goals of obtaining higher education, but she has also 
been successful in her career track as it relates to her purpose and passion. 
Harrescia has utilized her passion for criminal justice and law enforcement to create 
an environment that is conducive to academic advancement and professional 
development.  
 
I write these words in hope that you all are not only aware of her many 
accomplishments, but to explain the character of Harrescia. For a person to have a 
passion for serving her community to make a difference, entails that her heart is 
aligned with love and integrity. As the many years I have known Harrescia, I have 
witnessed her to be a compassionate and loving woman who upholds herself with 
accountability, pride, and respect. Therefore, it is with great honor that I stand as a 
witness to her innocence and advocate on her behalf.
