DEFENDANT DEREK PARKER’S MOTION TO CONTINUE SENTENCING 
 
 
Defendant Derek Parker respectfully requests that the Court continue the 
sentencing hearing currently scheduled for August 31, 2022. The Government 
has represented that it consents to this motion.  
 
Undersigned counsel is lead counsel (appointed) in a federal trial set for 
August 29, 2022 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. See 
United States v. Ceddrick Mercery, 3-21-CR—009 (CAR). The trial is expected to last 
through at least August 31, 2022. Undersigned counsel respectfully requests that 
the Court continue the sentencing for anytime during the week of September 19 
or later.
