MOTION FOR PERMISSION TO APPEAL  
IN FORMA PAUPERIS 
 
NOW COMES Defendant, CHRISTOPHER SCOTT, through his 
counsel, JOSHUA B. ADAMS, and respectfully requests leave to 
proceed in forma pauperis on appeal, pursuant to Federal Rule of 
Criminal Procedure Rule 44. In support of his motion, Mr. Scott states 
ss follows. 
1. Mr. Scott initially retained undersigned counsel to represent 
him in the district court.  
2. On August 20, 2025, this honorable court sentenced Mr. Scott 
to 70 months imprisonment and restitution of over 
$567,333.00 
3. Mr. Scott wishes to appeal this honorable court’s sentence. He

does not have the funds necessary to hire counsel to prosecute 
the appeal. 
4. Pursuant to the CJA plan adopted in this Circuit, “[I]f, at any 
stage of the proceedings. . the court finds the defendant is 
financially unable to pay counsel whom he has retained, the 
Court may appoint counsel as provided in subsection (b) of the 
Act and authorize payment as provided in subsection (d) of the 
Act and the CJA Guidelines, pursuant to subsection (c) of the 
Act.” 
 
WHEREFORE, the defendant, Christophe Scott, prays that this Court 
grants him leave to appeal this case to the Seventh Circuit in forma 
pauperis.
