depression following the loss of her husband Marcus in January of 2022. Despite these challenges, she 
has managed to prioritize her responsibilities as a mother to her three children and her own mother. 
Her resilience is a testament to her strength of character. 
The current legal case has profoundly affected Chanette. She confides in me her fears of letting 
down her children, especially her oldest son Kareem. The prospect of being separated from her children, 
especially during their formative years, weighs heavily on her heart. I can attest that this situation is not 
only affecting Chanette individually, but also casting a shadow over our entire family. 
Chanette and I have shared discussions about our aspirations for the future, including the 
possibility of starting businesses. She has expressed a desire to create a better life for herself and her 
family, which includes relocating to a more peaceful environment and establishing a clothing store or 
her own clothing line. The passion and enthusiasm she exhibits when discussing these plans reaffirms 
her commitment to making positive changes in her life. 
Your Honor, I firmly believe that Chanette Lewis is deserving of a second chance. Her dedication 
to her family and her aspirations for a better future demonstrate her potential to contribute positively 
to society. I kindly request that you consider these aspects when making your decision regarding her
