APPEAL FROM MAGISTRATE JUDGE’S ORDER OF DETENTION
Comes now the defendant, Carl Torjagbo, by and through his undersigned
counsel who appeals the October 21, 2022 order denying his motion for
reconsideration of the magistrate judge’s May 12, 2022 detention order. 
1.
Carl Torjagbo has been charged in this multi-count indictment with
fraudulently applying for and obtaining a PPP loan and with aggravated identity theft.

Mr. Torjagbo was ordered detained without bond at his initial appearance
before Magistrate Judge Walker on May 12, 2022.  (Dkt 11)He subsequently retained
counsel who submitted a motion for reconsideration of the detention order.  That
motion was denied by the magistrate judge on October 21, 2022 (Dkt 38).

On February 15, 2023, Mr. Torjagbo filed a pro se appeal from the order

denying the motion for reconsideration which was captioned “Motion to Appeal
Order of Detention”.  (Dkt 49 ).

Undersigned counsel now appeals to the Court for de novo consideration of his
request for bond.  There are reasonable terms and conditions that can be imposed on
Mr. Torjagbo to assure his presence at future hearings and safeguard the community
against any further misconduct.
Wherefore, the defendant, Carl Torjagbo, requests that he be granted release
during the pretrial stage of the proceedings.
