MOTION TO CONTINUE
The United States of America, by Kathleen E. Robeson, Assistant United States Attorney
for the Southern District of West Virginia, hereby respectfully moves the Court for a brief
continuance of the plea hearing currently scheduled for July 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. The United
States makes this request for the following reasons:
1. On the hearing date, counsel for the United States will be on a prepaid visit out-of-
state trip. The trip is scheduled to run July 13, 2022, through July 25, 2022.
2. Counsel for Defendant, Alexis Ransom, has been advised of this Motion and
indicates that the defense has no objection to the brief continuance of the plea hearing.
3. In aid of scheduling, defense counsel informed undersigned counsel that he is
unavailable on the dates of July 28-29, 2022, as well as on August 5, August 8, and August 12,
2022. Undersigned counsel notes that she is counsel for a multi-day trial scheduled to begin in
Huntington the week of August 9, 2022.

WHEREFORE, for the reasons set forth above, the undersigned respectfully moves this
Honorable Court to continue and reschedule the plea hearing in this case to a different date and
time, preferably after July 27, 2022.
