The profile

A Boston employer-of-record company that took a $2,553,300 PPP loan in April 2020, reporting 87 jobs, and had $2,582,750.39 forgiven in June 2021. In between it said it had doubled its staff in 2020 and grown recurring revenue 50 percent in a year; in January 2022 it took $200 million from Vista Credit Partners at a $4.2 billion valuation.

Identity and role

Globalization Partners, now branded G-P, is an employer of record based in Boston: it employs workers on behalf of client companies in countries where the clients have no entity of their own. Its founder, Nicole Sahin, is chief executive; she spent about a year as executive chair before resuming the role in February 2023.

Pandemic-relief role

The SBA's PPP loan data list a loan to "Globalization Partners Inc" at 265 Franklin St., Suite 502, Boston, the address its own privacy policy gave for Globalization Partners, Inc. in April 2020. Bank of America made the loan, approved on April 15, 2020, for $2,553,300. The borrower reported 87 jobs, or about $29,350 per job. The loan was forgiven on June 11, 2021, for $2,582,750.39, principal plus interest. The data list no second-draw loan under the company's name or at that address.

The application form Treasury posted on April 2, 2020, asked each borrower to certify, by initialing, that "current economic uncertainty makes this loan request necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Applicant."

After the loan: a hiring plan, then a $4.2 billion valuation

On January 28, 2021, Globalization Partners said it had doubled its internal global headcount in 2020 and planned to hire more than 300 people in 2021, which would take it to about 600. On June 2, 2021, nine days before the loan was forgiven, it reported a 50 percent rise in annual recurring revenue and a 150 percent rise in new customers from the first quarter of 2020 to the first quarter of 2021. It forecast more than $1 billion in annualized recurring revenue by the end of 2021. "The pandemic proved global remote teams are the way of the future," Sahin said.

On January 24, 2022, the company announced "a $200 million investment from Vista Credit Partners" that valued it at $4.2 billion. It put its annual recurring revenue at "approximately $1 billion" and said new-customer acquisition had grown 2.5 times from 2020 to 2021. Its president, Bob Cahill, said the company had "invested hundreds of millions of dollars in our business" over the previous decade.

In February 2023, a year after citing "approximately $1 billion" in annual recurring revenue, the company reported 75 percent revenue growth for 2022 and forecast "$400M+ net ARR" by the end of 2023.

None of the announcements mentions the PPP loan, and the revenue and customer figures are the company's own.

No enforcement action against Globalization Partners over the loan appears in the records we reviewed.

Where they are now (2025–2026)

The company operates under the G-P name. In January 2026 it said 2025 had brought the highest annual revenue in its history and nearly 30 percent growth in customers; the release gave no revenue figure.
