The profile

Co-founder and former CEO of Numerated, whose software banks used to process PPP applications; CEO of Engageware since September 2025.

Identity & role

Dan O'Malley — co-founder and former CEO of Numerated, the business-lending automation platform that many banks and credit unions used to originate and forgive PPP loans.

Career

Numerated originated as a spinout from Eastern Bank's "Eastern Labs" in 2017 (American Banker). In November 2024 Moody's Corporation announced that it had acquired Numerated Growth Technologies and would fold it into Moody's Lending Suite, without disclosing the purchase price (Moody's release). O'Malley later became CEO of Engageware (Business Wire).

Pandemic relief / PPP role

By the company's account (Numerated post) it partnered with dozens of banks and credit unions; it then built PPP forgiveness automation. Unlike the consumer-facing aggregators, Numerated sold software to lenders rather than sourcing borrowers.

Government support / loans

No PPP-fraud finding or enforcement action against Numerated or O'Malley has been identified in the public record; Numerated's own borrower status was not checked against the SBA loan-level file here.

Where they are now (2025–2026)

CEO of Engageware (Business Wire; we have a copy) after Numerated's sale to Moody's, which folded it into its lending-technology business in November 2024 .
