Elizabeth Christie Mueller, who goes by Beth Mueller. Washington, D.C. She served on the majority staff of the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis (from June 2020), the Clyburn-led panel whose December 1, 2022 staff report, "We Are Not the Fraud Police": How Fintechs Facilitated Fraud in the Paycheck Protection Program, examined Blueacorn, Womply, Kabbage and Bluevine. She is now Senior Director, Counsel — Litigation, Legal Policy & Strategy at Eli Lilly and Company.

Mueller holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law. She began her legal career as an associate at Paul Hastings LLP (securities work). Secondary, LinkedIn-derived profiles also describe an intervening federal role (Senior Counsel for Oversight at the Office of Personnel Management, 2022–2023); that step is not confirmed from a primary government source.

Pandemic relief oversight role

Mueller was a senior member of the investigations staff of the Subcommittee that produced the December 2022 fintech-fraud report. Subcommittee staff reports of this kind are issued as institutional products and are not individually by-lined; the public record establishes her institutional role (Counsel from June 2020, Chief Counsel by mid-2021), not authorship of specific report sections or what she personally drafted, deposed, or signed.
