NOTICE REGARDING COMPETENCY PROCEEDINGS

The United States of America, by Roger B. Handberg, United States Attorney

for the Middle District of Florida, in accordance with this Court’s Order (Doc. 50) (the

“Order”) hereby notifies the Court of its proposal regarding competency:

1. On January 16, 2023, Dr. Ryan C.W. Hall, M.D., P.A., submitted his

Competency Evaluation Report (the “Competency Report”) for defendant, Evan

Edwards. On January 17, 2023, the Competency Report was submitted to the Court.

A copy of the Competency Report has been filed under seal.

2. The United States agrees with the findings and recommendations

contained within the Competency Report.

3. Further, the United States requests that a hearing be set to address

competency. Ultimately, the United States submits that, as a result of such hearing,

the Court should enter an Order under 18 U.S.C. § 4241(d), finding the defendant

mentally incompetent and committing the defendant to the custody of the Attorney

General for treatment.

WHEREFORE, the United States complies with this Court’s order and submits

notice of its agreement with the Competency Report and request for a hearing to

address competency.
