Re: United States v. Martin Kao, CR 21-00061 LEK (Wire Fraud)
Dear Judge Kobayashi:
The government requests that the Court schedule a hearing to determine the
amount of restitution owed to PacMar, f/k/a Navatek, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §
3664(d)(5). Since the February 13, 2025 sentencing in this matter, the parties have
engaged in discussions on the issue, but have failed to reach agreement.
Consequently, the government requests that the Court set a hearing within the 90-
day period following sentencing prescribed by § 3664(d)(5). The government
anticipates that a hearing would consume no more than two hours.
Sincerely,
KENNETH M. SORENSON
Acting United States Attorney
District of Hawaii
