1 The Honorable Judge Rodney Smith United States District Judge 299 E. Broward Blvd. Ft. Lauderdale, Florida October 3, 2021 I am writing to you regarding Case No. 21-60171-CR-SMITH. My grandmother, Cindi Denton, has been my rock and my best friend ever since I was born. She raised me, along with my brother and sister, and frankly she’s done more for me in the past 22 years than anyone has in my entire life. She has made me who I am. I learned how to be kind and just from her. She taught me how to nurture, and to care. She taught me how to love the world, and how to be strong in the face of fear. My grandmother, as far as I am concerned, is more than just my grandmother. She is my mother, my father, my teacher, the strong and regal woman I’ve looked up to my whole life. Cindi Denton is the foundation, the glue to our family. Her heart knows no boundaries when it comes to loving and providing for her family. My fondest memories in life are those I’ve shared with her, and I can’t imagine a single day without her. Thank you for giving me your time and reading this letter.
