1 Pursuant to the Court’s Minute Entry dated January 9, 2024 (ECF No. 230) and L.R. 16-
2 10(d), Plaintiffs Cat Brooks and Rasheed Shabazz (“Plaintiffs”) and Defendant Thomson
3 Reuters Corporation (collectively, the “Parties”) submit this Joint Status Report in advance of
4 the Case Management Conference set for April 30, 2024 in the above-captioned action.
5 1. STATUS UPDATE
6 On January 9, 2023, the Court entered its Minute Order following the parties’ status
7 conference on the same date (ECF No. 230). The Court set a subsequent status conference for
8 April 30, 2024, as the parties would be mediating with retired United States District Court
9 Judge Layn R. Phillips on March 8, 2024 (Id.). Co-lead counsel for the Class, Andre Mura and
10 Geoffrey Graber, and counsel for Thomson Reuters, Susan Fahringer, have attended three
11 joint mediation sessions: on March 8 and March 22 in person, and on March 29 over Zoom.
12 Negotiations continue. The parties exchanged opening merits expert reports on February 16,
13 2024, and remain on track to complete expert discovery by September 16, 2024 (ECF No. 227).
