Boston Buddha Vararam Temple 125 North Road Bedford, MA 01730 January 25, 2022 Re: Aticha Jittaphol To Whom It May Concern, I am pleased to submit this character reference letter in support of Aticha Jittaphol. I have personally known Aticha since 2017, and she has consistently been an active member of the Buddhists community both in New York (where she and I first met) and in the Greater Boston area, where she currently resides. As a Buddhist temple, we depend on volunteers to assist with our temple affairs all the time. This is an integral part of the Thai culture. Aticha, Thai and Buddhist, has constantly answered the volunteer calls when we need her. On a personal level, Aticha is very interested in religious practices and activities. She has been an active member of an introspection class at our temple. She regularly makes merit by bringing food and necessity items to our temple. She habitually participates in our annual religious days like Makha Bucha, Buddhist Lent, Royal Ploughing, and Visakha Buja days. On a community level, in recent years, she chaired the Tod Kathin Ceremony both in 2020 and 2021. This ceremony is arguably the most important religious event of the year. We (the monks) are presented with necessary, new, religious clothing, which we could not necessarily afford otherwise. We depend on our active Buddhist community members, ones like Aticha, to support us. I sincerely believe Aticha is an actively religious, dependable, kind-hearted, and devoted human-being to her friends, family, and community, and I am more than happy to discuss about her further, should you have any question.
